a5c7b9f00b Jesse Stone comes out of involuntary retirement after the sheriff who replaced him exploded in their police car. The other officers Jesse worked with have left the department so he is forced to solve the crime on his own.
When the man who replaced JesseParadise Police Chief was killed when his car exploded, Jesse is asked to return and he does. So he goes to the crime scene and the evidence leads people to believe that the man may have been corrupt. And Jesse, who didn't like him because he took his job, says that he is allowed the benefit of the doubt. Jesse finds himself alone because Suitcase and Rose left when the other Chief was there. Jesse suspects that Hasty might know something, and a guy is following Jesse.
As the previous reviewer mentioned, the opening scene garners much attention and promises of good things to come. Unfortunately, they never really do. Tom Selleck does a nice job. If it was another actor, I don't think I would have watched the whole movie. There are numerous mood shots where the camera just stays on the character a bit longer for my liking. The dog is cute (I believe it's Tom Selleck's actual dog) but he gets the same long camera lingering shots. After a while you couldn't help laughing when the dog comes on. There may be too many characters and they don't really get developed so the story does not flow. I don't want to spoil any of it for those who are sentenced to watch it, but you will find some of the occurrences to be a bit illogical. It's definitely not on par with Blue Bloods.
I like the pace of Jesse Stone TV movies. They are too slow for some folks, but the pauses give the discriminating viewer time to guess at what Jesse is turning over in his head. I thoroughly enjoy the banter between him and his psychologist friend and Capt Healey. As a man who survived all the banter that accompanies time in the military, I actually get a kick out of hearing the dialogue.<br/><br/>Jesse is rehiredchief after some police are killed in a car bomb. He is caught between not liking one of the dead and wanting justice even if it proves the dead cop was innocent of a crime. <br/><br/>There is some touching of old friendships and a few surprises. We get a small hint of something to come but it is hard to actually piece all of what we see together and know how it will play out.<br/><br/>I enjoyed it very much, hope you will too.
